Suffolk Regional Off Track Betting Corporation (Suffolk OTB) recently donated $6,000 to Literacy Suffolk, Inc., as a result of their Annual Golf Outing. Suffolk OTB employees chose Literacy Suffolk, Inc., as one of the charities to receive a share of the proceeds raised.
Literacy Suffolk, Inc. helps improve individual adult literacy skills through the use of trained volunteers and by expanding community awareness. Literacy Suffolk recruits and trains community volunteers to tutor Suffolk County adults in basic literacy and English for speakers of other languages.
Suffolk Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation is a public benefit corporation that prides itself on their community-friendly branches and ongoing support to various not-for-profit organizations serving the residents of Suffolk County. Suffolk County has received nearly $200 million from Suffolk OTB revenues since its creation in 1975. Suffolk OTB currently operates 14 branches, and offers Qwik Bet wagering at four locations.
